SUMMARY: Drawing on the influence of the early 2000 post-hardcore movement (bands like Thursday, Finch, Hopesfall, The Used), Ben Procobis formed September's Silence as a five piece after leaving Spudgun in 2002. The band went on to play lots of all ages shows and began recording an EP at Party Pig Studios in 2007. This EP remained unfinished as the band decided to finish up around this time.

ORAL HISTORY:
BEN: I left Spudgun in 2002 and started to recruit members for a post-hardcore/screamo band in late 2003. I recruited Kyle on drums (he'd played in Jettison), Steve 'Fatty' Willis (Midstream/Double Standard/Spudgun) on guitar, Shannon Blain on guitar, and Andrew 'Marshy' Marsh (One by Wednesday) on bass. I wanted to do something really melodic but also something that I could expel a lot of angst with.

BEN: We were renowned as being a band that were so unpredictable. We fed off that, and as time went on, the more intense the shows became.

BEN: My favourite show we played was in St Marys at the Memorial Hall. We played to 300 kids packed into a small room. It was chaotic, energetic, intense, and a lot of fun. Another rad show was at The Den on Xmas Eve in 2005, with The Valley, The Bride and Fallshort. The room was the size of a shoebox with no ventilation and 100 kids were packed in like sardines. It was mental.
