ORAL HISTORY:
DEAN: We all went to school together. Ian and myself were in the same Kindergarten class. James was two years older at school but we knew him through music at school and became friends. When I was 16 I started a band called Fetus Eater with two other friends. Ian approached me to jam and he tried to poach me out of Fetus Eater.
DEAN: Ian, James and I started jamming at Ian's house as he had a share house at Baulkham Hills right next to the Bull and Bush Hotel. We would have crazy parties and people from the pub would just rock up to hear us play.
DEAN: We played the local gig scene but did lots of time in studio because I worked there. We had a good following and even had a few songs played on Triple J at the time. We never really tried to 'make it' as such because we just loved making music and had no real push to make it or sell ourselves. People liked because we weren't trying to be liked.
DEAN: We were punk-ish but also weird. We did lots of styles. We liked being different and loved Mr Bungle. We liked doing unexpected stuff - heavy, soft, punk, even some hip hop metal and jazz. We liked to confuse people.
